Andreas Gursky
Andreas Gursky (born 15 January 1955) is a German photographer and professor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Germany. He is known for his large format architecture and landscape colour photographs, often employing a high point of view.
Below is his works;
This photograph was taken in 1999 and the photo named '99 cent'. If you look closely, you can see 99cent written on the poster of the supermarket. I think this is a really interesting photo as you can see the form of shape and the colours of items was arranged nicely on the shelves.
This photo was taken at Pyongyang, North Korea in 2007. You can see how nice the formation is. From far it doesn't seem like rows of people marching but it's like an object.
His works are really unique as most of his works as you can see, all in repeated patterns and in large scale. It is really nice to see works that are different. He is brave enough to show different styles of photography. He doesn't only focus on one object but shows it as a whole in a large-scale form.
